If there was a shield using the HopeRF RFM69HW, RFM69CW, RFM69HCW range that would be truly awesome. People seem to have got 1.5 miles from the high power version with an external antenna.
But the external antenna might not work in the case of attaching it to an animal. Here is a link to something using the hope similar to the cat problem

I am looking for temperature and humidity, i do not need pressure but if it is there no issue. I was thinking of a board with something like the SHT1x sensor.
