Sorry about that!  These are definitely not cancelled, just delayed a short bit.  We got swamped around Nov - Dec so we decided to push this off a little bit.  But we are very close to releasing these very soon, likely via a Kickstarter early next month.

There will be a new processor board released (basically the TinyScreen+ without the screen), which will have a 32-bit SAMD ARM processor (essentially the Arduino Zero, but smaller), along with a whole new line of tiny boards (30+), which connect to the system via small 5-pin cables, allowing for a lot more flexibility with making miniature projects.  These will be lower cost, and also work with other boards, like a standard Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and most other standard microcontroller systems.

Looking forward to getting these out soon, so keep watching.  We should be promoting this more over the next month as we lead up to the release.

Thanks,

Ken

Oops - sorry about that!  We'll definitely swap it out for you - can you send an email to info@tinycircuits.com with your address so we can arrange this?

Thanks,

Actually there is a solution for this now, we have a new protoboard that has an optional top connector.  You can find it here:  https://www.tiny-circuits.com/tiny-shield-proto-board-all-163.html

The WiFi is certified, as is the Bluegiga BLE Shield.  The Nordic shield is not yet certified.

It may be possible, alot depends on the interface to the camera.  We have an example on the Hackster page showing how to display video from a microSD card to the TinyScreen:

https://tinycircuits.hackster.io/tbatey_tiny-circuits/tinyscreen-animated-and-static-images

The problem will be that you'll likely have to manipulate the data from the video camera before sending it to the screen, which will slow things down.

Yes!  This is definitely possible.  There are several different proto board options that expose the IO pins and let you either use screw terminals (The Terminal Block TinyShield), or solder points.  You can use this to hook up external sensors, buzzers, buttons, LEDs, etc.

Sorry that you're having problems, one difference between newer versions of the Arduino IDE and older ones is the way the board is selected.  Under Tools... Board, make sure "Arduino Pro or Pro Mini" is selected.  Then under Tools... Processor, make sure the Processor is set to "Atmega328 (3.3V, 8MHz).

Try that and see if it helps.

Thanks,

Sounds like a very cool project!

The TinyDuino can use and charge standard 3.7V Lithium-ion / Lithium-polymer batteries.  We'll eventually have more options, but you can definitely use a larger battery (Sparkfun and Adafruit both have many options).  You will either need to solder the battery into the board, or cut the connector off of one of our batteries and solder it onto the new battery.

Thanks,

Ken
