Rotary Encoder & Potentiometer

I just thought I'd add my idea for Rotary Encoders and Potentiometer shields.
Hopefully you will like the idea Ken, I'll get one for free.

As you mentioned, it may only be feasible to make one with only encodeing chips. I can see that and that would be fine for me.
For those who wish to do no soldering, it might be good to be able to just clip in on top.

My first idea is a handgrip, with encoder as a remote follow focus control .. probably wireless.
This is for when I have to mount a camera on a crane or jib arm, or up on a pole.

I like this idea. My first thought was to use it with the ribbon cable so it could be remotely mounted directly on the rotating item, but you're right, this thing is so small it could be mounted anywhere with the TinyDuino, even inside a twist hand grip!

The suggestion to create a clip-on design for those who prefer not to solder is excellent. It makes the technology more accessible to a wider range of users.

That’s a great idea! I love the thought of a wireless remote follow focus control for those hard-to-reach shots. It would definitely make things a lot easier when you're working with cranes or jib arms. A handgrip design with an encoder could be super ergonomic, and the wireless part would take the hassle out of tangled cables.
