TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / Operate Low Power Motor?
« on: September 23, 2014, 03:10:42 AM »
Hi everybody,

I've got a low power motor that I pulled from a little toy that I'd like to operate. The power source from the toy was outputting about 0.5v and 20-130mA, so I assume the motor needs about the same. The Motor Shield says that it can supply 1.8V to 11V. Will I have to try to squeeze in a regulator to drop the voltage? It is possible at all with the Motor Shield? Is there another option for driving a motor this small? Also, since it's such a tiny motor, is there any way to power the motor and/or the motor shield off of the button cell battery attached to the processor? I apologize for the barrage of questions; any advice would be appreciated!
