Title: TinyScreen+ PIN breakout
Post by: kon-artist on November 30, 2020, 03:30:00 PM
Hi everyone,

I recently bought the TinyScreen+ and while I am waiting for it to arrive I wanted to get started thinking about the PIN breakout. I want to use the 10 pins available for ADC and thus idealy connect wires to those pins directly. However, I found on the schematic that the part being used for the pin connector is "DS12-32-DP". Would this https://www.digikey.de/product-detail/de/hirose-electric-co-ltd/DF12A-3-0-32DS-0-5V-81/H5202DKR-ND/1844301 connector fit to get what I want? Any other suggestions? Remove the pin bed altogether?

Thanks for your help!

Kon,

That's certainly the right connector that you would want to use - and it would work, but be a little difficult to handle and very fragile since the part is so small. For the pin breakout, it might be easier to consider a proto board TinyShield. These are the most popular: https://tinycircuits.com/collections/proto-boards/products/proto-board-tinyshield

But there are other options: https://tinycircuits.com/collections/proto-boards

I believe the Cyber Monday sale is going on until midnight today. so I'd recommend getting them while they're on sale!

We send out orders as they come in, but if you ordered a TinyScreen+ today, we might still have the order unpacked if you wanted us to add something!

Hope that helps!

Thanks,
