TinyTV & Tiny Video Player / Compatible File Types & GIFs ?

I though I had seen it a while back, but cannot find it on the website now; is there a set of file types that the Tiny TV Converter (1.0.4) can accept and convert properly?
So far I have had success with converting mov files to the tiny avi files.
However, the 'Open Video' button tooltip says 'open a video file or gif', but no gif file I have converted has resulted in a playable file. They always display the 'video file may be corrupted' message on the tv.
