I've been thinking of how to use the TinyArcade. I wanted something which uses the sd card. My current idea is a Pokemon like game. The world is black and white. The creatures aren't very powerful until they gain color. You paint your monsters in the game. I'm still very early in the design. Included a screenshot from my simulator running the painting screen. Might need a zoom screen on the TinyArcade as it is hard to do details on the small screen. The monster is the Cateye taken from the Tuxemon game.

This looks really cool! I'd really like some new TinyArcade games!

The code is at https://github.com/dulsi/colormonster (https://github.com/dulsi/colormonster). Right now it just allows you to paint things. The save file format will need to change so I don't recommend creating anything elaborate.

I created an Open Game Source article (http://identicalsoftware.com/games/colormonster) about the development. The game is not playable yet but it is getting there. You can paint your monster. You can wonder around a small world. You can start a combat but it doesn't end.

Another article (http://identicalsoftware.com/games/colormonster2) on the development of Color Monsters.

Development stalled a little bit. I decided to enter the Indie Game Making Contest 2018. I spent the month of November building a new rpg engine for the computer. Some of Color Monsters tools were used in this. Unfortunately it proved too much to do in a month. OpenGameArt Movie Video Game (https://dulsi.itch.io/opengameart-movie-video-game) was added to the contest but it is lacking a lot. Postmortem is found here (http://identicalsoftware.com/games/opengameartmovie). That's not all bad though. Some of the modifications to the dialog parser will feed back into Color Monsters.
