Never mind. Found it. Once again have to redefine Serial / SerialUSB.

TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / Tinyscreen+, SD Card issue
« on: October 19, 2016, 06:51:01 PM »
I am using a tinyscreen+ with the IMU 9dof and SD card reader stacked together. Tried both the SD card info and the datalogger example (after setting the pin to 10). I am not getting any output at all. The serial baud rate is set to 9600. I send over a string to start, but getting no output back. Is there something additional needed to make the example work with the Tinyscreen+ over the traditional Tinyduino?

I have not used the motor board, but never had a problem of the boards touching with the screw and spacer set. Perhaps a small square of electrical tape over the portion of the USB connector would solve your issue.

I cannot seem to find anything in the lib for the embedded temperature sensor on it. Any sample code for that around?

How is the shipping of units for the Kickstarter progressing? See all the forum threads here, as a backer, I am super anxious to play too.

Well... All three screens now work with the updated lib code which means 1) I don't need to send you guys anything back (awesome) and 2) I need to rewrite some code (sigh) to work with the new board rev. Maybe team TinyCircuits might consider listing board revision history changes in the footnotes somewhere of the products. It is great that you guys keep making things better and better, but we need to keep up with you.

Well then Ben, let me test these screens with an example off the current library before sending any your way. The code I am using was written originally before the Tinyscreen had an official library and has been modified over time. However, the Tinyscreen calls have remained relatively untouched since the beginning. I'll keep you posted tonight.

Thanks Ben. I will do that. Is there anything between rev 4 and 5 of that board that would cause me to revise code? It is just weird that all my new rev 5s were defective.

Having similar issues. I ordered three Tinyscreens at the beginning of the month (two different orders). All three screens are not providing a display. Once in a blue moon, I may be able to turn them unit on and get a second or two worth of display, then they blank. Buttons work fine. I swapped out the units with an older Tinyscreen on hand and it works fine. The three screens with issues are all labeled Rev 5. The older screen is labeled Rev 4.

User Projects / Code Examples / Tiny Game Player
« on: December 07, 2015, 09:17:39 AM »
Thought I would share my old project revisited recently. When the TinyScreen came out, I got the Game Kit. It was a fun assembly that the kids liked, but left open it kinda got put aside. I finally got a chance to make a case for it. Made a small snap together case for it with Gamepad style top buttons. Added a keychain attachment to it as well so I can clip it to my coat or backpack. It was 3D printed on a small consumer printer. Still, it did the trick for me. Now I got a small bit of entertainment with me and a talking piece.

Hi Magnus,

Board compatibility can be found here: https://www.tiny-circuits.com/index.php/tiny-duino/tinyshield-compat/ Most are compatible with each other. However, some require the same pins where issues begin.

From the looks of the pictures, it looks like the Tiny Arcade is using new hardware. I imagine it will be very similar to code, but it looks like the USB, TinyDuino, and OLED display boards are now fused into one board. I think this may be the same board that was on the previous Kickstarter for the children's smart watch. The joystick board layout is different with a ribbon cable and one less joystick. I cannot see if they did anything different for SD or audio connection.

If you are new to TinyDuino, I would still go ahead and play around with the existing boards while you wait for the Kickstarter to progress. You can make a great little handheld with the current boards. Codebender has game samples to look at and use.

General Discussion / Re: Can we make the boards glow in "Black Light"?

I keep all my Tiny Circuits in a tackle box with dividers. That way there is a spot for every component and they do not get misplaced.

Completed projects tend to have a glow in the dark case. Not so much to keep from losing them, but I tend to use them a great deal at night and wish to make them easily visible.

You can run IDE 1.0.6. I normally use it for TinyDuino.
