New Product Ideas / Whatever happened to those new products?
« on: March 09, 2018, 09:00:29 PM »
Late last year I read an announcement (probably in the blog) that you had plans to introduce a whole new batch of shields & other products to be released "shortly after the new year".  Now I can't even find that notice let alone all the new things.  What happened?  Delayed?  Canceled?  Any hints on what they are/were?

TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / TinySaber assembly instructions
« on: June 19, 2017, 09:52:08 PM »
I'd like to suggest a small addition to the assembly instructions for TinySaber.  You should mention that all the case pieces have sticky paper on both sides that needs to be peeled off before you put them together.  At first I thought they were wood & you cheaped out for some reason.  It took a while for me to see what they really were made of so I could take the half-assembled case apart, peel off the paper bits & put them back together.  Aside from that (& the lack of source code - I want to add colors, patterns & new tap commands at the very least) it's a really fun little piece to carry around.

TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / TinySaber source code?
« on: June 19, 2017, 09:43:22 PM »
I'm not sure which forum this belongs in so I'll just put it here.  I love all your products & I own most of them.  Last weekend I received your latest piece, the TinySaber.  Cute & fun to carry around to play with, a sure conversation starter.  But a big part of owning any arduino is writing your own programs or at least tweaking the examples that come with them.  I know it's your newest product, only available a short time & you guys have promised the saber's source is coming.  If you could give me some idea of how long it'll be or what the hold up is I'd probably be a lot more patient.  So what's the scoop?

TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / Sierra driver
« on: March 31, 2017, 01:28:58 PM »
I can't find a driver for OSX that works in Sierra.  I've located the various ch34x drivers, tried installing each but no joy.  What driver should I use?

For reference here's the driver that's recommended the most, which doesn't work for me.  Yes I followed directions, deleted old drivers, disabled SIR in recovery mode, etc.

TinyDuino Processors & TinyShields / WiFi Shield: Smart Connect
« on: September 01, 2016, 02:28:07 AM »
In reading up on the TI CC3000 that the WiFi TinyShield is based on I've discovered something called Smart Config that allows an app on a WiFi connected device like an Android or iPhone to send a signal to the WiFi shield & transmit the SSID, encryption key, default route & DNS servers to the chip & write them into an NVRAM so they don't have to be manually programmed in every time you reboot or want to use it on a new network.  But the design docs say the process starts by pressing the S1 button on the CC3000, putting it into Smart Config mode & listening for the special Smart Config packets from the control app.  Now I know there's no such button on the WiFi TinyShield but is there a software equivalent routine that can be triggered or pin pair that can be connected to start the process on the WiFi TinyShield?

For reference here's the Smart Config writeup on the TI wiki:

And here's another breakdown of the Smart Connect process:
