Title: GPS shield
Post by: fvoiron on April 03, 2018, 06:23:45 AM
Hello all,

I'm using the GPS shield for fast tracking and would like to push the update rate to 5Hz (default is 1Hz).
It is stated in the product datasheet that this can be done using NMEA command... does anybody tried it ?
What the appropriate NMEA command ? The *PSRF100 doesn't allow faster that 1s update rate whereasI would need 200ms. does anybody knows wich command to use ? is it NMEA or SPrF protocol related?

Thnaks for any support

Hi,

I am trying to do it myself also and I am curious to know if this has been resolved or if there is a solution to obtaining the 5Hz update rate on the GPS shield?

Thanks

For the technical answer please refer to my earlier post “GPS TinyShield does not provide actual altitude” on this forum.

The 5 Hz command for the Telit JF2 GPS  has been taken from the chapter ” Enable 5Hz Update NMEA” from “Telit_Jupiter_JF2_EVK_User_Manual_r0.pdf” found on internet:
"$PSRF103,00,6,00,0*23\r\n"
