Title: Stuck in bootloader
Post by: Jim Cook on August 19, 2017, 08:05:40 AM
I liked my Tiny Arcade so much that I purchased two more units for my grandsons.

Josh and I put together his unit and it worked on the first try!!!! Fantastic!
We uploaded the extra games on a AD card (Great practice for him) and put it in the Arcade and these also worked well.

The next day, Josh called and said he charged the unit with a USB cable in a wall wart and now the Arcade appears to be stuck in the bootloader phase. I saw a note from CathyL and you gave the instructions to configure the Arduino IDE, install the Tiny screen library and board preparation.

Should we proceed and try to reload everything or is there another direction we should take?

Hi Jim,

This seems to happen once in a while, we're not able to reproduce it- if you're willing to try reloading the menu, please do so. Let me know what the outcome is either way.

Thanks,
Ben

Just to let everyone know, with the fantastic help from Ben at Tiny Circuits, I was very successful in reloading the menu. My grandson, Josh, has his Tiny Arcade back and it's working well.

It worked so well that last night my other grandson, Seamus, and I put together another Tiny Arcade for him. He was mesmerized by it. Shay let his sister play one game and wouldn't allow her to play another. I hope this doesn't mean that we have to assemble another Arcade.

Thanks for your help Ben.
