Title: Problem with the TinyScreen
Post by: Zandman 1 on September 11, 2015, 09:49:38 PM
Hello everybody. I made a display with the TinyCompass and the TinyScreen last week that printed the direction that it was facing (north, east, etc.) and its orientation in degrees.  It was working after several tests and I was running it today while working on another project that will eventually utilize the display when the TinyScreen suddenly changed from showing the compass direction in the corner of the screen to showing multiple lines of color running across the screen before the display dissolved into colored static.  I tried connecting it to the computer to see if it was a problem with the battery. When that didn't work I tried re-uploading the code, only for that to fail as well.  Now the only thing I see when I try to turn on the display is static alternating between stationary vertical bars and moving across the screen from bottom to top.  Can anyone help me fix this problem?

EDIT: This issue appears to have resolved itself, I left the TinyScreen alone for the rest of the day and tried using it again the next morning, it appears to be working fine now.  I'm wondering if the problem mentioned above occurred because the battery nearly died and then plugging it into my computer to recharge caused a power surge that temporarily scrambled the display...

I don't remember hearing of any problems quite like this, glad it's working now but please keep us updated if you have any further problems.

The same problem happened two more times with the same TinyScreen (once on the 16th and once this afternoon): The first time it returned to normal after a few hours later, the second time is still ongoing so I will wait until tomorrow to see if it returns to normal again.  I've been using a spare TinyScreen in the interim and have not had any problems with that one.

Double check to make sure the screen is connected to the Tinyduino all the way.
Make sure there is no dirt or hair inside that tiny connector too.
